Ayuda en Acción is seeking experienced candidates for the position of  Humanitarian Projects Coordinator to base at Fanta Rassu zone and develop and implement the Afar National Regional State Humanitarian Response Projects in Fanta Rassu (04) zone and Gulina and Awwa districts). The projects are based in the humanitarian needs and priorities of the area linked with long term development approaches working in several sectors as Food, nonfood, WASH, IPDs, Education in Emergency  and resilient livelihoods in some districts of Afar region.

Position Description:

The successful candidates will report to Senior Humanitarian Project Manager of the country office and provide the overall strategic direction to Afar National regional State humanitarian projects/program ultimately responsible for delivery of results and responsible for general management of the projects. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Report to Senior Humanitarian Project manager of Country Office.
  • Represent Ayuda en Acción in the region, zones and establish partnerships with Public and Private Stakeholders and clusters.
  • Establishing relationship with development partners, education cluster, networks, and alliances,
  • Assure the implementation, monitoring and reporting of the one-year education in emergency project plans and annual operation plans for the project.
  • Supports the country office and respective functions in designing, fund raising, project proposal writing, concept note development and implementing the projects, in recruiting partners, staffs, purchase assets and properties.
  • Manage the Project resources (human, financial and material) in coordination with the Senior Humanitarian manager and Country Office.
  • Understand and provide inputs on safety and security plan development of the specific project area, assure the implementation of them and requirements of the country program to human resources and properties management.
  • Protect the completeness, accuracy and integrity of accounting data and information based on AeA policies, procedures, donor regulations, and the law of the land.
  • Evaluate all projects and feedback knowledge to the Ayuda en Accion knowledge-base.
  • Documenting and reporting as per the AeA policies, procedures, donor regulations, and the law of the land.

Other requirements and terms of offer:

  • Availability to move and travel to rural communities, villages and to Addis Ababa.
  • To have good behavior and attitude.
  • Immediate incorporation and full working day,
  • One year contract with probation period indicated in the law of Ethiopia and with possibility of extension.
  • Duty station: Fanta Rassu, zone 04, with traveling to others districts and communities in the Zone and region.
  • Remuneration according to the salary policy of Ayuda en Acción.

Requisitos

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Education, disaster and risk management, sociology, social work, social anthropology, agriculture, agribusiness, natural resources development or development studies.
  • A minimum of 6 years work experience in education in emergencies, DRR and humanitarian programs development and management, long and short-term projects/programs development and management, natural resources management, institutional Fund raising and management, partnership development and management, strong work relationship with education and related clusters, networking and alliance building, human, financial and material resources management, M&E, documentation and reporting in reputable institution/s preferably in the pertinent INGO sector at national regional levels.
  • Knowledge, practical application and implications of emergency in education, Protection, Humanitarian standards and principles, humanitarian responses, participatory development approaches, tools, monitoring and evaluation tools and fund raising,
  • Demonstrated leadership and management of donor-funded development projects/programs,
  • Ability to structure and manage risks and complex tasks; including experience in work planning, risk identification and mitigation, coordination and activity budgeting,
  • Strong knowledge of safety and security situations, analysis and actions, humanitarian and development works, protection, private sector and landscape in Ethiopia.
  • Ability to work independently, build team, networking, alliance building and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, computer skills, report writing, and analytical skills with proper written and spoken English and responsive to the donor's needs and meeting deadlines.
  • Able to communicate the respective local languages and culture are an advantage.
